The Calvert Library in Prince Frederick, Maryland is one active library! Saturday, October 29, 2016, the library is hosting its annual Local Authors Festival from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with more than 30 authors in attendance. I’m lucky enough to be one of them. I’ll be there with my books, “Believing In Horses,” and “Believing In Horses, Too.” And I look forward to meeting local readers and authors.

I hold a special place in my heart for this library, as this was the first library to carry my first book, “Believing In Horses.”

For a full schedule, the author lineup, and additional details, please click here: http://calvert.lib.md.us/author.html. And please stop by and say hi if you make it!

And check out the other many special events this library offers, including discussions, learning opportunities, and writing workshops.

  1. Chris The Story Reading Ape – Hereford, UK – I am what my name states, an ape of the primate species called Homo Sapiens Sapiens. My blog is intended to present New (to me) Authors, whose stories or books I have read and enjoyed, so that anyone who happens to stumble onto this blog, while searching for a book to read, or, a new (to them) author to try, may find what they seek, or, at least, inspiration. I have also made the blog an Author Promotions Enterprise to be a platform for authors to introduce themselves to potential readers and to provide advice and tips resources information they can use to improve and enhance their story telling efforts. Please be advised that I reserve the right to remove, or decline to publish, any comments that I deem inappropriate.

  2. Thanks for sharing this. I LOVE how libraries are learning how to share our books – Indie or not – and to make a big fuss over local authors. It’s fabulous. I teach my creative writing classes at a local New England library, and they are paid by the ‘Friends of the ….. Library,” so that my adult students of every means can enjoy finding their creative voice in my classes. Another local library is having a similar Author Fair (as yours in MD) on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I’ll be selling my books there, meeting other local authors, and we all hope that lots of readers will attend.
